Autopay activation

My billing cycle starts on the 10th of the current month and ends on the 9th of the following month. I just enrolled in autopay on the 15th of the current month. Do I still need to pay this latest bill manually or will autopay take care of it. Just want to avoid paying twice. Also, is there a notification from Koodo that the auto payment was processed?  Thanks.

Hi there,

Based on the timeline the automatic payment should take it out before the 9th. However, if you want to play it safe you can manually pay the bill - you won’t be paying it twice. I would do this as sometimes it can take until the next cycle for it to start.

If you pay the bill now and the automatic payment decides to initiate later, it will be requesting a balance of $0. So you won’t be charged anything extra.

I would suggest you to pay it manually on your first bill to avoid any unexpected charges. It normally takes one full bill cycle for the pre-authorized payment to register. You may incur late fees if it does not go through. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/setting-pre-authorized-payments

That makes sense which is probably why it wasn't obvious to me. If I understand correctly then, autopay just basically deducts whatever your balance is once per cycle. By that logic then, you could only actually double pay if the processing delay from a manual payment lined up with the autopay. If you somehow managed to pay twice I assume it would just show as a credit until the following billing cycles eliminated it. Thanks.

If cashflow is an issue and you really want to avoid double payment, I would note that auto pay is taken around 15 days before the billing cycle ends / 15 days after your bill is generated.

About Feb 27 if you do not see the Auto pay processed, I would manually pay
