Been along time customer for years and years. I was setup on my credit card for payment every month. Was getting a 5 dollar credit for couple years so that ended . Okay no problem so I switched to may bank acct last month to receive the auto discount. Entered all the info right and so on came back tanks all that jargon and this isnt my first rodeo entering online banking information. Today now i recieve an email for koodo saying they debited my acct but insufficient funds. In the meantime my payment isnt suppose to paid to dec 22/25. I can tell you one guy here will not be paying 50 bucks for nsf because i know i have over 5 thousand dollars in that acct. I guess its move on time with koodos and i have 2 phones with them which i own now . Can someone help me with this? I hate when you cant  talk to  a person no more. I am 63 years old and i not a person for chatting on pc or tablet I am from the old school when telephones were telephones. This is one time that i will not pay .

Pre-auth payment usually come a couple days early. Why do you think it was supposed to be paid on dec 22/25?

Did you follow up with your bank to figure out why the payment did not go through?

Hi there @dnewf

We understand how frurstrating this can be, however we will do our best to help!

We have already checked and can see that the payment was declined, most like due to incorrect payment details, however, this won’t trigger an NSF fee on Koodo side. If an NSF fee is charged by the bank, this would need to be discussed with the bank directly.

We recommend checking the support article for more info about how to set up pre-authorized payments - > https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/setting-pre-authorized-payments

Alternatively, you can use Plaid to set up the pre-authorized payments, more about Plaid can be found here → https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/plaid-faq

In case you notice an NSF charge on your upcoming Koodo bill triggered by this failed attempt, please let us know here.

If you have further questions, please let us know!

My wife been a scotiabank employee for 32 years . She checked today and said there wasn't even an attempt to make a withdrawal let alone nsf. Its actually 48 dollar fee she just said for nsf at Scotiabank. We have over draft protection bur there was over 5 grand there. So it isnt NSF.

That is if you are to manually pay.  If you have auto pay set up, it says that the payment is taken out 15 days before the next bill date.

Besides, the koodo rep above says it was not a NSF issue.  It was declined due to a likely incorrect payment detail.

I suggest paying this bill manually to take care of the bill, then re-enter your banking info for auto pay

  • UKAURA I did posted the same today and yes I was able to successfully book a callback. 3hours and 18 min call. It did had a positive resolution but we won't know until the next payment comes out in January. I am keeping fingers crossed that I don't have to go through the hell again. My post echoes what you outlined.

Koodo moving away from supporting people / loyal customers has been an ongoing trend for quite some time & today I experienced that incompetence first hand.

Koodo is becoming an overpriced 3rd tier service even worse than Freedom. (Fizz & Chatr have better client service)

The beef started since the Credit Card PAD were forcefully asked to be removed to keep a meagre $5 discount. I was cautious but having two lines and a significant $10 saving every month have to switch for banking PAD. There was no choice whereas I am repenting that decision.

For one month, something glitched on Koodo’s side, did not take payment & charged me a Late Payment charge. $3 is nothing to fret about but 3 hours to reach someone was not what I expected & I ended up disconnecting the back & forth chat which went no where. Next month a PAD happened sweeping two months together & a late payment charge. Very furious but swallowed my pride. Now the new bill pops up & a $50 NSF. The bill for two lines $140 plus. No way I am going to let Koodo take the money. This is just day time robbery. Fix your systems.

I am already at a breaking point & if this is how Koodo treats customers then brace for at least my CRTC complaint going in formally as well as I am sure that you guys at Koodo do not appreciate the business. It is better to stay with tier 1 providers to pay a small premium but you get better service & a person to talk to when things go south. Here is no accountability & Koodo is set only on money grab.
