Why the heck am I still getting charged 3g surcharges when I have a 5g phone.. only reason my phone would fall back to 3g is if LTE or 5g isn't available

Were your phone compatible with Koodo VoLTE? I wonder they charged you because the phone has to switch to 3G for call and texting. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/explaining-koodos-3g-usage-price-increase?
