How can this be possible on an unlimited plan? I am assuming that there is some sort of breach.
Hi
We have looked into your account, however, the bill is not yet issued.
Just to double check do you see this charge on your credit card statement? On which date does the charge appear? Please do not share any personal details.
Yes, I do see the charge on my credit card statement.
The date for the charge is: January 8th, 2025
Details:
KOODO AIRTIME
$0.01
Shows up on statement as KOODO AIRTIME #4814
Location
7057923728 ON
Edit: Upon further investigation, this could possibly be a test charge as I turned on autopay in self serve today.
Found a possible related issue from a year ago, same number (if “location” on the transaction is a number):
unauthorized charge | Koodo Community
Odd thing is that my usage on self serve shows no such number or any calls to this point, no calls showing on my phone either. I just turned on call control as well to make certain no calls can be made.

Is the charge pending or posted?
I am leaning toward the setting up of the pre-auth.
The charge doesnt seem to be related to airtime charges. Koodo also doesnt charge for “airtime” in this way. So it is not related to any call you made.
Also call control is for incoming calls.

Thank you for responding. It is posted rather than pending.
Yes, it looks to be pre-auth. I assumed because I already used the same card when I signed up that this would not be the case. Just standard administrative check when you do autopay that is always performed regardless, it seems.
I had another potential issue at the same time so was concerned they were related but they were not and also neither were actual issues but rather things are working as they should.
I did know call control was for incoming but I read online that there are some scams relating to incoming calls somehow. I don’t really understand these systems too well or how that would benefit someone but scammers can be pretty creative.
I had an issue many years ago, somewhat similar but it really was a scam and caused a fair bit of trouble for me. I try to be proactive now at the risk of looking a bit silly sometimes.
Thanks again.
