My Samsung S10+ died, and I’m trying to switch to a Moto G XT2165-5.

My Moto phone wants to verify my identity with the Samsung. The screen is frozen on my background theme at the top half of the phone, and the bottom half is black. There are no icons on the screen, and the screen cannot be manipulated at all. Also, the power button on the side does not function, and I cannot restart the phone.

The two-step verification does not give the option of verifying by email. The only option provided is through the S10.

I just came from a Telus booth at the mall, and the sales help told me I have to verify through email. He said, absolutely for sure, there would be an email asking me to verify. There was an email asking if it was me trying to access the account, so I clicked Yes. This didn’t help with getting into the phone. I cannot get past the 2-step verification screen.

Any suggestions?

What are you trying to login to that it’s asking for verification on your old phone?
