If you check out the article below there is a great video on how to transfer your number through your koodo self serve account just make sure to have your old phone providers sim in a phone and your account number for that provider at the ready before you start the process.

Once you initiate the port, a port request text message will be sent to the number you want to keep. You then have 90 mins to respond yes to the message. Once you have responded to the text it will start the port process and can take up to 2hrs to complete but usually it doesn't take that long. I hope this helps.
