Just updated to iOS 18.1 and lost RCS. It was working before. Troubleshooting unsuccessful. Looks to be in Koodo side.

Reddit thread with lotsa folx having same issue https://www.reddit.com/r/Koodo/comments/1gefb2n/rcs_gone_after_ios_181_update/

When will this be fixed?

Can you test this by putting in a non-koodo sim to see if another sim fixes the issue?

Already tested and this is a Koodo issue. Also see the Reddit link as others have tried that as well.

I recommend reporting the outage.  THis is the best way to get on their radar if multiple people report this outage

I updated my devices to ios 18.1 with Koodo. RCS worked just fine.

After the update, The iPhone showed up a message to update “carrier update” profile. Have you accepted to update it?

Same problem here. Iphone 15 Pro Max, purchased from Apple, updated to IOS 18.1 this morning and the ability to use RCS in Messages is gone and the RCS toggle in the settings is gone. The carrier profile was automatically updated with the IOS update - no user interaction needed. Koodo carrier version 60.1

This problem is specific to Koodo and does not affect Telus users.

I spoke too early. As I am using a dual SIM, the iphone automatically switched to another carrier for RCS.

The current Koodo carrier profile 60.1 didn’t include RCS, it appears.

I will flag a rep to have more information on it

Same issue for me.  No way of contacting Koodo support about this because all you can do is schedule a call back.  No availability for days.  An absolute joke.  Headed to Rogers tonight to switch because I can’t stand the fact that Koodo has no support phone number to call.

Same issue here. No RCS at all. Super frustrating because I recently got rid of WhatsApp because I didn’t see the point of having it anymore with RCS being a thing. If Koodo doesn’t fix this soon they’ll loose me as a customer.

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for sharing!

Our team is currently investigating the issue/

We will let you know as soon as we have more details.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Hoping for an update soon. I was also trying to figure out as well what happened to my RCS messaging. iPhone 15 Pro, just updated to 18.1. Lost RCS. It’s no longer  in my settings, nor is it listed in the carrier IMS info.

Same problem for me. Following.

Same Issue!! Any fixes yet?

Same issue also. Did: full reset, a clean install of iPhone 14 Pro. 18.1 (22B83)

The issue was from Koodo carrier settings. They are fixing it. I recommend you wait. There is no need to do a full reset.

REading the mobilesyrup article, users have reported getting RCS back after downloading the 18.2 beta. If that’s something you’re able/willing to do until Koodo issues a fix, it may be worth trying.

There no beta 18.2 I just check public and dev .

Don’t encourage people to install a beta. That’s a mistake on Mobile Syrup’s part, because they didn’t read the updated edit on their source. The RCS selection appears in 18.2, but RCS communication still doesn’t work.

That’s unfortunate. I’m not against betas in general. But if this one doesn’t actually fix the issue, then indeed it shouldn’t be done.

So what the update on the patch? It’s has been 7 days people are having issues.

There is a new carrier update,  RCS is back

Hi there !

The issue has now been resolved. RCS messaging is functioning as normal.

Thanks for you patience and understanding!

I rebooted my iPhone and still the same problem

I rebooted my iPhone and still the same problem

Go into Settings → General → About. Koodo carrier profile should be 60.2. When you touch it, it now shows “Voice, SMS & RCS”.

I can confirm this, the issue was fixed on my device
