Hi, 

My IPhone is currently stuck in SOS mode since last night for absolutely no reason. 

I’ve done those steps : 

  • Restart my phone (about 5 times already)
  • Turn the airplane mode for 15 seconds 
  • I changed my sims card. When I bought my new phone with Koodo about two months ago, I did receive a new sims card I didn’t used because I just transfered the one I already had in my phone. So I tried with the new one but it doesn’t work still

I checked my account and I have no outstanding balance or anything. My account is up to date. 

I bought my phone with Koodo. So really I am out of ressources at the moment. 


Did anyone faces this situation before and would be able to help me?

Are you able to test the sim card on a different phone? If you turn wifi calling on in the phon settings, are you able to use the service for calls?


@Flo Koodo I tested it on another phone and it goes in SOS mode. Both sims cards, which one was new and still on the plastic I received it on.

Update : I just turned on the wifi calling on but can’t even call the 611 for the service.

Will you please restart your phone once more and let us know if it works (please use the original sim card that you transferred from the old phone)


I am trying  to set up a payment date for my ph I am on Canada pension so I get money on the 29 of every month but I opened my plan on the 19th of the mo. So I pay on or around the 29 of every MO but they shut it off on the 19th of every MO. So I'm getting  burned for at least 10 or 12 days a MO. All I want to do is change the payment date

just to double check, does it happen indoors or outdoors? Or everywhere you tested it shows SOS mode?

 

@Joseph Menczel Please start a new post using the “Create a new post” at the top, next to your community profile. You will have to get in touch with the Payment Support team. You should be able to by dialing #227 from your Koodo phone.


@Flo Koodo Both ! It started yesterday while I was out at a restaurant in Montreal, and it still going at my home this morning (I also live in Montreal). So both outdoors and indoors, everywhere it shows SOS

We have checked and we didn’t see reports in Montreal. 

It might be that the old sim card got defective.

In this case, if you have the new sim card you got with the last phone you purchased from Koodo, you can try to perform a sim swap in self serve using the steps here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/koodo-sim-support. 

The old sim will become unusable, and the services will be transferred to the new sim, which should work once the sim swap completed.

Old SIM card, during the process of removal and insertion, can be damaged and become unusable. If you are lucky, you can have a good old SIM card that can last forever but it it not always the case.
