my phine is still on sos

just transferred from Telus to Koodo and I kept my phone number but it’s been almost 30 minutes now and my phone still says SOS. It is getting frustrating. I have reset network settings and some every single tip given. I saw another post that said the sim itself needs to be activated, because I got it from the store. Please can someone help. I’ve been unable to make calls and test since yesterday.
