Koodo and cellular router

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if a Koodo sim can be used in a cellular router?  I bought a RUT240 cellular router on Amazon.  It set up ok but would not connect to the internet.  Not sure if it was a router problem or does Koodo not allow data tranfer from a cellular router.

I have the 75gb plan.

It is not officially supported so it’s hard to say with 100% certainty.

Looking at this listing though (https://www.amazon.ca/TELTONIKA-4-Teltonika-RUT240-Router/dp/B077C4KDRM) it doesn’t support all of the main cellular frequencies that Koodo needs, only a couple so service will be impacted/non existent.

Thanks, Allan.  I was hoping somebody had one working and could elaborate on their setup.  I will return the router and consider other options.

Find your local Telus cell tower here: https://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/cancellsites.html

Click and see what frequencies it supports. Check that against any further purchase.

I have no personal experience in using one of these with Koodo, but at least you will be over one compatibilty hurdle.
