I scheduled a callback to resolve an issue where my iphone se gen2 wasn’t getting calls from certain numbers. the rep thought it was probably because I had a 3g plan and had call forwarding on my plan. she convinced me to switch to a 4g plan and disabled call forwarding for me. After that, she was walking me through how to reset cellular settings but my phone’s passcode wouldn’t work. So she told me she would reset it for me and all I had to do is shut my phone off for 2 minutes and start it again, then reconnect to my wifi. (I rely on wifi calling because there is no cell service where I live) When I turned the phone back on, it wouldn’t accept my passcode and I’m currently locked out. I’m absolutely sure it’s the correct passcode and I’ve never changed it. I went to the koodo store and the rep there told me there was nothing they could do except sell me a new phone and there was no way they changed my passcode. Apple wants me to reset my phone but I really don’t want to lose my contacts and photos. The phone’s software is completely up to date and I’m unreachable by phone while trying to run a business.

The lockscreen passcode is solely set by you.

A plan change or resetting celluar settings will not change your passcode.

You need to accept that you are mis-remembering your passcode and try to remember.

Did you change your passcode recently?  Are you using your old passcode my mistake

That’s what they’re telling me. I’ve used the same code on this phone for 4 years or so and never had an issue until today. I am absolutely sure it is the correct passcode and I’ve never changed it. There is no way they could’ve messed something up by changing things remotely?

At this point they are very likely correct.  It is basically the only possible scenario that I can even think of.

Again you need to accept you are somehow mis-remembering.  For example Are you using some other passcode for something else (computer, tablet, work device, bank card, etc) that you are remembering from muscle memory that you are confusing as your phone passcode?

No, there is no way. It’s the right passcode.
