I would like to know how to change the number of rings before going to voicemail. It now rings six times before going to voicemail but that is too many for me. I would like to change it to three rings. Is that possible?
Customize the number of seconds your phone rings before your calls go to voicemail (i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds) (Minimum 5 seconds = 1 ring, Maximum 30 seconds = 6 rings).
- Dial *#61# and then press the call/send icon. This will display your voicemail access number (this is not your phone number).
The following ten-digit voicemail access number shown in bold is an example: * 61 * 2265804001 * 11 *10#
If you don’t see the voicemail access number after entering this code, or if you get an error message, please schedule a callback through Koodo Assist and a rep will be happy to help you with this.
If you see the voicemail access number, write it down somewhere. When entering this code, do not add +1 in front of the voicemail access number, as the system adds this automatically.
In the example above, the number 10 represents the number of seconds before voicemail picks up. The table below shows the approximate number of rings to voicemail:
10 seconds = 3 - 4 rings to voicemail
20 seconds = 4 - 5 rings to voicemail
30 seconds = 5 - 6 rings to voicemail
- From your phones’ dial pad, enter * 61 * voicemail access number * 11 * number of preferred seconds # then press the call/send icon.
- You should see a message: “Setting Activation Succeeded, Voice Call Forwarding When Unanswered.”
- Press “Dismiss.”
- Dial *#61# to confirm everything is in order.
Thanks for your response Dennis. I tried that but I get a long list of "setting interrogation succeeded" with various categories such as "voice call forwarding" etc.. I had a long confusing conversation with a call back rep this morning. My main question was about using both a personalized outgoing voicemail message while at the same time using Apple live voicemail. After about 20 minutes and still having no idea what he was talking about, I gave up. He seemed to be saying I could not use both at the same time. I also asked him about changing the number of rings and he laughed and said that was not possible, that it was standard.
I would disable all Apple live voicemail first.
Are you saying you cannot bring up your voicemail access number? When does the error appear when you try the steps above?
Was the call with the rep about the amount of ringtones before voicemail picks up or about a personalized outgoing voicemail message while at the same time using Apple live voicemail? Do you have 2 questions? Could this be the cause of the confusion?
Sometimes it is better to deal with 1 issue at a time
Also try the steps here if the instructions above do not work
I asked him the question about the voicemail personalized message first. He had a hard time working with that one because he told me he did not have an iPhone himself. Then I said I had a second question for him and asked him about the number of rings.
The image below shows you what I get when I dial *#61#
You can also try *#62# or *#63#
Or you can go into your phone settings and locate the voicemail number.
Or you can follow the link below to determine your voicemail access number. Or you can press and hold 1 and it will call your voicemail access number.
Thanks SoDennis. I will have to take this up again later on as I need to go out now.
I have not been able to access my voicemail access number. Following the steps above just takes me to a page with a list of "Setting interrogation succeeded" categories as mentioned above. I will have to schedule another callback and hope that the rep is more knowledthis time. Thanks for your efforts.
Now Koodo assist refuses to let me schedule a callback.
EDIT: SOrry it has been a few days so I needed to jog my memory.
