change IP address

For the past week I have been assigned the same IP that is geo-locked to Montreal, Quebec. I live in Ontario,  several hours away from the Quebec border l. Now some services are restricted because of this. Going into airplane mode, or having the phone off for hours doesn't fix this. Is there a way to get an Ontario based IP address?

Have you tried to enable “location service” on your phone? People in public mobile forum found that might be the solution https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/Mobile-data-uses-quot-Montreal-quot-as-location-in-PEI/td-p/823654

Location service is enabled, but it doesn't solve the issue. Still blocked out based on IP address.

Any decent VPN will enable a user-selectable alternate geo-location. Downside is that some web sites block access from common commercial VPN addresses. VPN service will probably have to be  manually activated each time the phone is rebooted or shut down.

Try one out on their free trial period,

Which phone are you using? And which particular service  app that you had issue with?

When you used Apple or Google map, were you able to find your correct location?
