Using my iPhone 8, when I call my home’s landline, I can hear the person who answers but they cannot hear me.  I’ve searched all of the settings and can’t find anything that would cause this. Can anyone help?

Does this happen when you call any other numbers?  Can you test this please?

After power off/power on, neither one of us can hear the other and it states “Call Failed” after a few seconds.

When I call another mobile, it just keeps “Calling” but doesn’t ring and the person can’t answer.  I am signed in to Koodo website but it’s all self-help.  Is there any way to contact a human at Koodo - I did years ago when I purchased this phone from them.

Ok so restarting your phone seems to have made this worse.

What happens when the land line or other phones call you?  Can you test this please.

Does it ring on the other person’s phone?  What do you mean the person cant answer?

Can you also Reset your Network Settings and see if this fixes your issue.

When the land line calls my cell, the cell doesn’t ring or show a screen for answering. Then the land line states, “Sorry I can’t take your call right now”.  Weird!  I’ve asked the Koodo rep for a call back later this afternoon, so will see if that helps.  When they call, I probably won’t know about it because the number they have (my cell) isn’t ringing or allowing answering.  Catch 22.

Turned my WiFi network off then on - no change.

Someone suggested taking the SIM card out and reinserting it.   My wife’s cell phone (both iPhones) with the same carrier in the same location works fine, so it’s either my phone or a setting on it that is tu.

P.S. Thanks for taking the time on this.  I’m out of ideas and not that technical with these phones.

It sounds like you have no signal on your phone.  Does your phone have a cell signal?  Are you able to use mobile data, or send/receive texts?

Can you also Reset your Network Settings and see if this fixes your issue.

Settings > General > Reset iPhone >  Reset> Reset Network Settings

I can’t reset my iPhone or I’ll lose all the networks in other locations that are in memory and that I don’t have recorded elsewhere.  That would have to be a final solution eventually.  I just received a test Emergency Signal on it and received a “message” from my granddaughter so those work.  I also removed the SIM card and reinserted it.  All of this has reduced my iPhone battery to 1%, so I have to charge it up more before anything else. Yes, I can send and receive text messages.

Try the sim in another phone and see if the phone works as it should.

Sounds reasonable.  I’ll try that later - I’m out of time this afternoon.  Thanks for your support.
