Every once in a while my screen turns black but I can still hear phone running in the background just can't see or do anything. Stays that way for 10 or 15 minutes then comes back on as if nothing happened.

Which phone are you using? From your description, it seems to be an hardware issue. Have you tried to reset the device to its default factory settings?

Which phone? I had a similar issue with the pixel 7 pro and it was most definitely a hardware issue.
