I went to self-serve to port my old number to Koodo. Had old Sim in phone still. Got message from old carrier asking me to confirm. Texted “yes.” Got Welcome to Koodo text. Self-serve now shows old number.

Here’s the problem: once I put in the Koodo Sim, it ONLY recognizes the “new” Koodo number (that I do not want), NOT my old number! Tried to put old carrier Sim back in but it shows as deactivated.

No clue how to fix this as I can’t get texts to the number Koodo has on file and it appears impossible to get a human. Any tips? I’m on an iPhone 14.

Can you reset network settings of the phone to see if that can help?

Yes I did that already, restarted phone a few times, took Sim in and out and still shows old number.

In case anyone finds this in future: something got “stuck” in the porting process to transfer the number. I got a callback from a rep who was able to “unstick” it and finish the process.

All that to say, it might not be an issue on your end!

Yes, if the number was stuck during the transfer, you would need a rep to check and manually fix it. Porting process now requires much stricter protocols.
