I am currently a Koodo Customer, with a current Koodo plan that I like. My current phone is an iPhone 11. I would like to buy an iPhone 16 Pro Max from the Apple Store, and start using that with my current phone plan. The only problem Is, iPhone 16s use an eSIM whereas the iPhone 11 uses a physical SIM card. How do I make the transfer? Koodo is so horrible to deal with, and id like the transition from phones to be seamless and not impact my phone plan.
Hi there,
so if you purchase a Canadian model of any of the iPhone 16 lineup, each still have the physical sim card tray. Now if you choose to purchase a US model or would generally like to use ESIM, fortunately it is pretty easy.
So firstly, ESIM vouchers are only provided at Koodo Kiosk’s or a Telus store for about $10-$20, so you would have to purchase one from there first. Next, you would have to go through your koodo self serve and follow the steps to change your sim card to the now purchased ESIM. Once you have finished this, you just have to add the ESIM through your iPhone’s cellular settings and you’re all done!
Again, if you purchase a Canadian model then you’re good and can just use your physical sim. Changing sim cards or purchased out right phones does not change your Koodo plan. I hope this helps! I will include some links that have some steps on how to change your sim and more info on ESIMs.
