Who was your salesman? Was it at a Koodo store?
Do you have a koodo sim?
Did the employee at the Telus phone store look into your account to tell you about what you signed up for?

this is wrong as phone companies won’t “give a phone for free” they may have meant that you don’t pay any money up front or you have a $0 tab (this may be a special promotion as no phone is currently $0). But as Dennis says, this doesn’t sound right at all, they won’t just give you a phone for nothing. It seems who you were speaking to was possibly incorrect or wasn’t clear.
