Hi, I just got Samsung S24 with Koodo new activation. I ported my number from Rogers to Koodo. However, I just figured out that Samsung S24 does not have mirco SD card slot so I want to return the phone to Walmart Wireless where I bought it. I bought it on Dec 26 2024 so it is still in 15 day return policy.

As I know, there is promotion for $10 + tax credit back for 7 months to cover for $70 setup fee that was mentioned in my Koodo Agreement when I bought this phone. So when I return the phone I bought and just change to BYOD plan with Koodo, will that offer still give me $10 + tax credit back for 7 months to cover for 1-time setup fee $70? I know this promotion is for postpaid plan and if I switch to postpaid BYOD plan, it should still be there right? And I only get charged 1 time of setup fee $70 for this right?

Really hope some Koodo agent can answer my question. I tried to call Koodo customer services but not call back.

Thank you!

Hi there,

So when you return the device within the 15 day period, the rep you return the device too will be able to give you offers that were available at the time of purchase,  in this case the 26th. As that was the offer at the time, they shouldn't have issues keeping it on there. You're correct, the activation fee is only one time and the credits will start after the first bill cycle. I hope this clears things up 🙂

Note that all top tier modern phones do not come with a microSD card slot.

The only Samsung that has a micro SD slot is the A53 that koodo used to sell.

Before you go through the trouble of a return you may want to figure our what alternative phone will meet your needs currently

Thank you Oliver for you answer. Appreciate that!

To Dennis: I bought this phone in order to give it to my brother who wants to use the Samsung phone. He wanted to use the micro SD card but we figured out that S24 did not have micro SD card after trying to find slot to put micro sd card in. So, I had to return it because I am using iPhone and bought him second hand Samsung phone with micro sd slot to use.
When I used to work in wireless retail few years ago, Samsung phones always had micro SD card slot. Now they remove it from Samsung flagship and that is why it is not worth to buy Samsung phone anymore imo.

The S20 (almost 5 years ago now) was last Samsung flagship that uses a microSD card. It's still why I'm still using my Note20.
