I cannot reset password. Error

When was the last time did you use your self serve successfully? Is your sim still working?


Thank you. I should register before using self service. But I think your website may need to check if the account exist before allowing user reset password.


Most websites do not state if the account exists when resetting a password.  I feel it is a bit of an accidental extra level of security so that if a bad actor was trying to get into your account it doesnt inform them that the email/username is incorrect


The point is that they typically won’t send a verification code to a mobile number or email if the account doesn’t exist. However, in my case, Koodo sent me a verification code, allowed me to pass the Step 2 Security Verification, and then left me stuck at the final step: New Password Setup. I’ve never encountered a website that allows a non-existent user to proceed to setting up a new password.

 


Oh that is an unexpected gap.  Thank you for the clarification.
