  1. I needed call forwarding.  Apparently it is additional $5/month, on top of the infamous Canadian mobile prices which are already among the highest in the world!  And don’t give me the standard bull excuse about the low population density, Australia has lower population density and half the cost. Oh, and call forwarding is included.
  2. The reason I wanted to set up call forwarding in the first place was the price of roaming, which is nothing short of highway robbery.
  3. The Artificial Idiocy so called “assistant” is completely useless.  When I asked it how long does it take for add-ons to activate, it regurgitated data about activating a new account.  When I tried to rephrase the question, it told me “ We offer a variety of add-ons to help you make the best of your Koodo experience.”  I can run a smarter LLM on my aging 2nd-hand laptop.
  4. I attempted to schedule a callback: it offered me time slots on Sunday. 48+ hours away. The reason that I wanted to talk to a human quickly is because I will be out of country by then.

The question is, if Telus/Koodo are fleecing the customers, why can’t they at least invest in better customer support?  I assume it is because poor Darren Entwistle’s compensation was only 21 million dollars last year (over 330 times the Canadian median income) and he REALLY needs the money.  Maybe we should start a gofundme campaign for him?

Am I ranting? You bet I am. Whatever party to commit to a credible plan to introduce much needed competition into this cartel-dominated market, and clean house in the corrupt CRTC, will get my vote.

Besides the rant, you would like to add call forwarding add-on? that could be done in your self-serve. However, the forwarded number can only be a number with country code of “+1”  (North American Numbering format).  https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/call-forwarding?

Anyway, Koodo prepaid (or public mobile) offers call forwarding with their plans - no extra charge.

I’m on postpaid.

If you are on postpaid, unfortunately, you would have to pay the extra fee for call forwarding (if you don’t, you will have to pay for each minute of forwarding calls).

Anyway, Make sure you enable call forward while you are still in Canada. If you enabled call forward while being overseas, Koodo might calculate those forwarded calls as international calls.
