I’ve been a BYOP users since the beginning. But it’s been a while and I’m hoping to find a good deal. (‘Tis the season.)

I saw the exclusive for me offers and was about to dive in… but then I read more and it made me laugh. I mean come on now… Really?

(Not here to be mean to Koodo & Team. Not calling you out. But it is kinda silly/funny - so much so i can’t keep it to myself.)

Koodo offered exclusively for me plans for $45 unlimited call and text with 75 GB of data and $50 for unlimited call and text with 80 GB of data. But their regular offering $44 for unlimited call and text with 80 GB of data and $50 for unlimited call and text with 85 GB of data. In short, their exclusive offers were more expensive their regular offers.

Well, I guess their regular offer didn’t work with existing customers? Anyway,  BYOD offer doesn’t always have the best deal as you could move to another carrier at anytime without any restriction.

I do really hate “personalized offers”.

I think they should be banned.  The fact they are not transparently available to everyone and there is no understanding of how to everyone qualifies for them, makes them inherently discriminatory.  I rather have indiscriminate plans available for everyone.

Yeah bad timing with Black Friday. You’d think that they’d be appropriately adjusted, but they have not.

I’m generally okay with Koodo so I’m not going to jump to another carrier. This feels really minor.

Plus, I understand the idea of new customers deals being exclusive to new customers.

But it’s just so silly to make these personalized offers but then have actual general offer available to me that’s even better. Why spend the effort - I rather Koodo/Telus just keep it simple. Keep the price stable in general, make gimmicky sales (i.e. Black Friday) transparent and straight forward.

I get I have to pay for service - I rather have it easy, set it and forget it - as oppose to need to make a big deal/big effort every now and then to get a deal.

Usually the personal offers are good for around 30 days and those other plans you see only just came out within the last couple.

So they would’ve been exclusive a couple weeks ago, but now that Black Friday deals have dropped, it looks funny.

Probably can’t completely get rid of them early if they gave you a set expiration date for them too. Even if they aren’t as good now. (There’d be someone to complain just to make a point)
