I would like to switch plans with my wife but keep my phone and my number is this possible?

You cannot swap plans no. The best you can do is each individually change plans to one that is current market.
The situation is I dont need my phone anymore due to work phone but I have time left on my contract but my wife is on a plan with no commitment. I really just need to get her number to my phone.

Unfortunately you cannot easily transfer a tab from one number to another.
The only loophole around this would be to port your number to a cheap prepaid account, then port the number back to Koodo on his line with the tab.
It would cost $10 for the prepaid sim and $15 for the cheapest plan.
