Separate 2 phone numbers from one account into 2 individual account

Question

We have 2 phone numbers under a single account but need to split them into 2 separate accounts. I am not sure how to go about setting up a separate account, getting the same phone number and removing that number from the previous account.
Do I just sign up as a new customer and then will have the ability to take assign the phone number?

You need to call in and initiate the transfer of ownership.
