simple(?) question: do local people calling me while I am roaming in their country pay as if it was a local/national call for them or as if I were in Canada?

Anyone calling you will need to dial your Canadian number. So if they are calling you from not-Canada, they will pay long distance, even if your are in the same roaming country.

Thanks. I feel this partially defeats the idea of roaming by using your Canadian phone, and I was hoping for better, but it makes sense. Hopefully the locals will be able to contact through apps that use data.
