Good afternoon, I was travelling in Rochester last month (sept 14-16) and turned my roaming off so that I would not incur easy roam charges (wifi use only). Unfortunately the automatic network selection was still on, and it appears my phone picked up US towers activating easy roam charges twice on my account as indicated on my most recent bill. I’m not sure how this occurred, however I have since updated my network selection in case this was the issue. Could you please assist me with the removal/reversal of the two easy roam activations? Thank you!

Do you know what triggered easy roam and how much was used?

 

I’m also curious How did you “turn off roaming”?  I see customers say that all the time.


No clue! I only got one notification which occurred on the Monday, but my bill shows it was triggered on Saturday and Sunday. I did not receive notifications on those days that it was allegedly activated. none was used as far as I can tell as I only used wifi when available. 
 

Turn off roaming on iOS = settings > cellular > cellular data options > data roaming toggled on/off

We have reviewed the details and we can see the charges were incurred due to outgoing text messages, please check the usage section in self serve.

Any usage made in roaming except for incoming text messages, triggers the roaming charges.

Thanks, as mentioned i had my phone roaming set to off, and was using wifi when available. My main concern is that I did not receive an alert that easy roam was activated until Monday late afternoon, a day there are no charges for. There was no formal notification received re: easy roam activation on either day the charges on my bill reflect. which is not the usual process for easy roam. Can you please assist with explaining and helping me rectify?  I see this was marked as solved but I do not believe the request is resolved yet.  I would really appreciate your assistance.

Koodo didn’t send notification for each easyroam session. It only sent message when your phone first connected to a foreign cell network. Unfortunately, it is the customer responsibility to control the roaming usage while traveling.
