If I get a phone using the tab plan will it become an 'unlocked' phone after the 24 months? Also would it come with any kind of warranty?

It is already unlocked. You can choose to put an extended warranty with Device Care Complete if you want extra protection. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/device-care-complete
