So I got this free perk like a few months ago….. I just tried to text some family and friends in Europe and South Africa and it is not working…. the only reason I changed my plan is so that I could include this perk and now I come to find out it doesn’t even work..
What can I do? I tried everything including doing the “manage my perks.add-on” thing under Self-Serve

The international SMS perk is not required to send international messages, it's required to not be charged extra for them. If the messages aren't going through then it's for another reason.
