Koodo sent me a text 10 days ago telling me that I received 25gb of data for free and apple tv for 6 months. The text said the 25 GB would be added to my plan automatically and I would have to opt in for the rest.  Free is free, so I'll take it. The free GB didn’t show up on my account and the text message vanished! I have no proof now! How do I get a hold of Koodo to complain about this?

How did the SMS vanish? have you changed your plan recently? It could be one of the possibility that cause the  issue. 


I have no idea how it vanished, but it’s not there anymore. I suspect Koodo can pull them back as I didn’t erase it. I did sign up for another plan/phone and got the text message within about a week of the new plan.

Unlikely, as they can’t recall for SMS. Flash SMS could be sent but Koodo didn't do it.  I recommend you try to search through message record, especially shortcode senders.

Ok, here is the series of events. My contract had expired recently, my Tab and Tab Bonus were zero. I decided to get a new plan and phone.

Monday Nov 18th, I purchased a new plan and phone.

Wednesday Nov 20th, I got a confirmation email and new contract PDF.

Friday Nov 22nd, I received the “text” message from Koodo.

Monday Nov 25th, I received the phone. I did the cloning from one phone to the other that evening but did not swap the sim card at that time as I was waiting for a phone case and screen protector to arrive.

Nov 28th my phone case arrived, and I swapped the Sim card and started using the phone.

I did find the text in question on my old phone (the one I was using when the text arrived). Funny that the one text didn’t go to the new phone as the rest of the texts from the text chain from that Koodo number did go to the new phone, including earlier texts.

So, I got the text about the free add on days after I got the new contract confirmation. So how do I get a person to talk to about this?


@mycj7 the add-on was originally activated November 10 and was dropped upon the plan change November 19. If you’ve located the text message can you attach a screenshot here (while covering any sensitive information) so we can look into it for you?
