You can use it for as many days as you want.
For U.S. destinations, the $14/day fee is capped at a cost of $350 within a bill cycle. For international destinations, the $16/fee is capped at a cost of $400 within a bill cycle. That means you can continue to use your phone plan without additional Easy Roam fees.
The fee caps are per line.
Thanks very much. Can I confirm I understand this correctly?
- If I use $16/day easy roaming, I’ll hit $400 per line in 25 days. If I’ve incurred $400 within the billing cycle on my phone, the rest of the billing cycle is free for easy roam?
- To use easy roam, what steps do I have to take to set up my phone? Do I turn data roaming on?
- Also, if I just want to receive texts and calls (but do not answer, make calls, send texts, use data), without incurring any international roaming charges, what settings do I apply? I have a data roaming option that is currently turned off. If I buy a separate data sim or an esim abroad, will I still get texts/calls on my Canadian #?
Thank you.. !
There are travel passes for “Europe” and the US at a reduced daily rate:

The rest of the billing cycle is free when you hit the cap. It’s gotten much bigger than it was before.
You would need data roaming on as well. This link explins how to add easy roam:

Receiving calls at no charge when roaming is not an option. Answering is connecting the call. The only free roaming you can do is receive SMS. You would have “international voice roaming” add-on in your add-on list, and turn off data roaming in your phone settings. You would also make sure “international data roaming” is not on your add-on list.
If you keep your Canadian sim card in your phone, or as an esim still on, you would continue to receive calls and texts if that’s enabled. If you buy a separate esim (such as from the many providers that now have global roaming options you buy on an app to install the esim and make plan purchases) then you can have multiple lines active on your phone if you wish. This would allow you to receive SMS for free on your Koodo line, but have another line active for making calls and using data.
If you want to also receive calls, and it must be on a Canadian number, there are VoIP options to get a Canadian number available, whether through something like Fongo or Skype, or as part of the esim app companies. If it must be your number, then you may have to accept the easy roam charges for when you need it.
