Dear Koodo Customer Support team

I am writing to formally address a recent issue with my Koodo rate plan. Last year, I was contacted by Koodo's winback team with an offer of a $30 plan for lifetime, which included 30 GB of data. This lifetime offer was the reason I switched back to Koodo and agreed to resume services with your company.

However, I recently noticed that my rate plan has been changed to $35, which contradicts the agreed lifetime plan I signed up for. This adjustment was made without any prior notification or consent, which I find very concerning, as it goes against the commitment made to me by your team.

I kindly request that my plan be restored to the original $30 per month as promised. This change has caused inconvenience, and I hope for a swift resolution to honor the initial agreement.

Please look into this matter urgently, and let me know how we can rectify this.

Thank you for your assistance and understanding.

Sincerely,

Jaspreet

Unfortunately Koodo (or any telecommunications company that I know of) offers a “lifetime offer”.

The most that you can get a price guaranteed to be locked in for is 2 years while you’re in a contract with a tab. Past that, all Koodo needs to give you is 30 days notice as per government requirements.

Hi @jssodhi1981

We have reviewed the details and we can see that a price increase was announced on the August  bill, we recommend checking the PDF bill page 12.

Month to month plans can get a price increase over time as long as the increase is announced upfront/

We recommend checking  in self serve if there are other optiosn available for you.

Hi ,

I am not happy with the reply as I was told by winback team that this is lifetime offer and your plan will not change.

I can only suggest you to go through my conversation with winback team, which happened last year to validate the details I mentioned.

It’s unfortunate that the winback department mislead you to get you back to Koodo, but the reality is there is no such thing as a lifetime offer with any of the major telco’s.  And that is especially true with generous data plans like what you have.   Black Friday is approaching fast, perhaps you will find a better offer then.  And yes, the other telco’s will increase your plan price after 3 to six months as well if the plan you get is BYOP and is generous on data for the price, , so factor that into any decisions you make.

2 yrs is enough...atleast it wont be a sneaky increase...should have sent out a seperate email notification

I agree with you fully, but all of the telco’s are good at announcing rate increases in fine print on either the 2nd last or last page of your previous months bill, you know, the pages that no one looks at until they either receive, or hear of someone receiving a sudden plan price increase.  I read other forums, so I can tell you that this is an industry wide practice.

Time to switch out

Our bill went from 39.55 to 45.20, without any email annoucements.

Koodo could send emails or even better send a text notification about rate increases (seeing they have everyone's phone numbers), but they prefer to hide the increase in small print on the last page of the previous bill. Very underhanded.

There is also the possibility that you had a credit that dropped off after a set amount of months.
