I have an old iphone that I’d like to give to my 13 year old. The phone was purchased through Koodo and on a monthly plan before I upgraded. I’d like for my child to use it on prepaid account so my question is would I be able to buy a prepaid sim card and add a line to my account or would I need to set up a separate account for him?

Prepaid and postpaid services are operating separately. Hence, you can’t add prepaid number to an existing postpaid account. You would have to activate a prepaid number on a new prepaid account.


I would suggest using a different email address to setup the prepaid account too
