Hello, I think I’ve done everything right but it’s not working. I’ve read a bunch of articles already. 

  1. I’m in the US with a US esim activated
  2. I have my Koodo sim turned on
  3. Cellular data for koodo is off and allow data switching is off
  4. Data roaming for koodo sim is off
  5. Easy roaming is off (removed from add-ons, although it was ‘activated’)

I received a batch of SMS messages incuding the notification for easy roaming when I turned on the esim this morning (other settings above in place). I did not respond to any messages. I have not been able to receive any other SMS messages since. 

I’m trying to log into accounts with 2FA but cannot without SMS.

I think I found the solution. I turned off automatic network selection (which was at&t) and manually selected t-mobile. Incoming SMS seems to be working now. 

 

I’ll note that I also restarted my phone a couple of times and that did not resolve it earlier. 

 

I’m not sure why, but will leave this post if someone else hits the same issue. 


Likely an issue with AT&T.

Unfortunately Koodo has no control over roaming networks.  Glad you were able to find a solution so quickly.  Great job describing your issue in such detail
