Hi, we're in Australia and both my husband and I cannot connect to a network here with our Koodo SIM cards. We have international voice roaming turned on in our Koodo self-serve  accounts, Easy Roam turned off (just want to send the occasional text at $0.60/SMS). We've tried turning our phones off and on several times and removing Koodo SIM and putting it back in. Still not connecting to a network.

Hi @Trelou here are some troubleshooting steps you can try for network issues while roaming https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/troubleshoot-mobile-phone-problems-when-traveling

We recommend scanning manually for available networks in Settings > Mobile network > Mobile data > Carrier by toggling off the automatic mode. Wait a few moments for the available networks to populate and try to connect to each one.

Here is some information on charges while roaming https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/understanding-how-youll-be-charged-while-travelling Make sure your data and data roaming are turned off to avoid charges for that.

Hi thanks, still not working. I don't want to connect to data. I don't want to pay for data roaming. I just want to be able to send/receive SMS messages while in Australia. When I turn the phone off/on, my phone automatically connects to a cellular network here (vodaphone) but then drops from the network almost immediately.

Vodafone is not one of the partner networks with Koodo. You can refer to this list for more details. There should be three to choose from.

Thanks. Any idea why I can't automatically connect to the Telus or Optus network with the Koodo SIM. They are the big cellular networks here. And are on that partner list.

Telstra. Sorry not Telus (autocorrect)

Have you tried to manually connect to these carriers ? There are a lot of factors when you travelling overseas

I haven't tried manually connecting because I don't want to turn on mobile data/data roaming as I don't want to incur data roaming charges. Is there another way to manually connect to an overseas network to make phone calls and send texts messages?

...I should add that I just went to Settings>Mobile Network>Mobile Data>Carrier and turned off Automatic Network selection. But when I try to manually connect to either the Telstra or Optus network, it says Network Registration Failed.

The issue could be from the lack of the other roaming add-ons. Anyway I recommend you reset network settings of the phone to see if that can help first. If that doesn't do anything, you might need a rep to check
