I can’t seem to connect with any customer service about this, but my phone is on its last legs and I’m travelling out of country until the new year. I want to know if Koodo will only support service with phones bought in Canada?

Which phone models are you planning to buy? iPhone, bought from other countries, can operate normally on Koodo network.
Android phones, bought from other countries, could work but might not have all features enabled.
