Why am I being charged with roaming on September 28th and October 4th $14 EACH when I DID NOT even leave the country at all. This is absolutely ridiculous it’s my 3rd month with Koodo and so far I’ve seen this on every single bill. Everything is turned off in settings so that’s not an issue. Does this happen to anyone else? Because now I’m seriously considering a different provider. Being charged through the roof for literally no reason.

Are you living near the border or travelling near it quite often?

You know you can prevent this right?

Just change your network settings from Automatic to Manual and then select Koodo.

No I don’t live near the border, but sometimes work near it and my network settings and everything are adjusted correctly as mentioned. I’m still being charged

I’ll flag a rep to assist and confirm with the charges. Dennis linked an article explainnig what’s happening and how to adjust your phone settings that should prevent it from happening again. And if it does happen again, please note that you have 30 days after getting the bill to contest the charges, so please don’t hesitate to reach out here if you notice an issue or any questions in general .

If your network settings are set to manual, I don’t see how it can be happening. Are you sure you set it to manual and chose Koodo?

Hi @gsidhu

We have reviewed the details and we have been able to remove the roaming charges.

Please follow the steps in the article shared by Dennis above. Switching to Manual network won’t allow the phone to connect to a US tower.

Some phones may revert the network settings back to Automatic after a phone restart.  So be aware that you many need to change it back to manual.

You can see this happen if you go back to network settings and you see it is automatic again
