Hello a Koodo customer service manager is requiring me to send $200 to Uganda via the Remitly app. This sounds very suspicious to me, but she claims it is completely safe and the only way to verify my credit card. This is the same credit card I have used for over 2 years for automatic payments. Does this sound like a scam to you?

So, koodo won't ask you to send money outside of Canada, this is a scam. They also don't verify credit cards via a payment. I suggest you block them. I hope this helps 😅

Total scam.

I downloaded the Koodo app from Play store as advised and then a Customer Service Manager named “Mrs Elaine Christine” with employee ID#002VRGNM  sent me instructions in the app to send $C200 to a person in Uganda. All the while she advised me this was completely safe. Who can I trust to help?

Koodo does not have an app.

On the Google Play store I searched and do not see a Koodo app available.

The Employee ID seems to hint at Virgin Mobile with the letters after the “M” and all the “I”’s removed.

This is definitely fake

So if youre looking for help on a spacific problem and need the aid of a rep, you can either ask on here, through social media by clicking links at the bottom of this page, by setting up a call back through koodo assist, or by going to a koodo kiosk.

Koodo do not have an app, they only have koodo self serve through koodo.com

My mistake. I Contacted Koodo on Messenger and “Mrs Elaine Christine” replied. From PlayStore, I downloaded the Remitly app.

This is my problem that I need help with:

My son has a Koodo account that we were both on. I recently ported out. He wants to port out his number because he has moved abroad. He can not receive calls or SMS in Europe as roaming is too expensive for him. He wants to port to Speakout here in Canada and I will manage his number for him. |s there a way for him to port out via email rather than replying to an SMS in Europe?

If you are contacting Koodo on Facebook, please us the link at the bottom of this webpage

https://www.facebook.com/Koodo

Receiving texts while roaming is free.

But sending texts, using talk, and data will result in roaming charges.

Instead of porting to Speak out, why not just get Koodo to put his line on seasonal hold

Seasonal hold can only be used for a maximum of 6 months.

Your son can also change to the $15 starter plan.  This way his line can remain active to receive texts for 2-factor authentication if needed.
