Hi Koodo,

I have got my latest phone bill for Nov 2024 and it looks I am again charged for roaming false charges. I live in a border town, Windsor, ON, and I got the Roaming Charges of $14.00 on Sun Oct 6th, 2024. As per the recommendations, I have already put the network search to Koodo and so I am not sure why these charges are applied again. I have not travelled to US on that particular day. Please remove these charges.

Thanks

I have flagged a rep for you 🙂

Hi @A_Hal

We have reviewed the details and we have been able to remove the roaming charge since it was triggered due to accidental data roaming, feel free to check the details in your self serve account when you get the chance.

For more info about how to prevent accidental roaming charges, please check out this article https://community.koodomobile.com/plans-services-232910/easy-roam-understanding-how-you-will-be-charged-while-traveling-7811296

Hi Hal,

My expereince is similar.

Complete beginner

My son often practices flying near the US border and often gets charged for roaming, but does not use the service. Last time it took a long time to adjust my bill via phone call. Is there another way to avoid these false charges or have them taken off the bill without wasting so much time talking on the phone? This has been going on for a while. All help welcome.

Hi Neil Hood,

As per the recommendations of Koodo, we need to do the following two steps to avoid roaming in the future:

  • Turn off the Data Roaming in Connections>Mobile Networks> Slide the bar to Off position in Data Roaming
  • Turn off the automatic network search. In the same menu, go to Network Operators> and then turn the slider to the Off position

This setting is for Android phones. It might be similar to IPhones as well.

Thanks

Thank you very much Haleem.
