Hello, this is thesecond time I have tosubmit this same request.

On November 09, 2024, 14:46pm, I was charged $29 for something I never done.  Someone else topped up his data while he was using my hot-spot. The bill went to me. I don't need anymore data, please cancel this fee. It's not right if you charge me just because I was sharing my hot spot to someone.

My number is  *********5

Controlling your device hotspot is the responsibility of customers though. Did you allow your phone to have personal hotspot on for that person?

As well, what was the detail breakdown of the $29? how much data was it?

I’m not sure I understand when you say someone else topped up their data through your hotspot? If someone gets an add-on or makes changes in self-serve, you’re not billed because it was through your data hotspot.

Hi @Limin He, it seems you added a $29 1 GB data add-on to your account. This can only be done via SMS from your phone or from your Self Serve account. Did you want to remove this add-on?

Yes it was my friend, he run out his data,  so I shared my hop spot to him. He got a text message states that his data was run out, and a link in that message took him to data-top up,  so he did, for HIMSELF, on HIS PHONE.  And the result is I got the bill instead of him.

I did not need extra data, and I did not require it,  it has nothing to do with me at all.

I want to cancel this data top up thing, just cancel it, it was not me who did it

It can’t be canceled with a simple request like that, unfortunately. You will have to prove that was Koodo error. Otherwise, you would be responsible to pay for it.

You could, however, ask whoever used your data to repay you.

I never touched anything about data top up, I didn't log in to my Koodo account on that day at all, I would have that request/purchase record if I did, there's nothing anywhere on my phone or on my account.  Let me ask you, do you have a prove of anywhere my number requested that?

You are giving me unexplained bill, that's illegal.  You charge me for something I didn't do. You prove I did it, then charge me.

This is customer forum. I am a customer like you are. I didn’t you give any bill.

If you insist on your own idea, you can schedule a call back from Koodo and ask a rep. However, I think the chance is slim.

You tell me, where and how I did it if you have to say I did it?  Can you show me where I purchased it? Can you find that request in my account?  Did I even log into my account on that day at all?  I DID NOT DO Anything!!!

This is going public, going to news if you people do things like that, I'm serious, it's ridiculous

You have all the right to do whatever you want. Let us know if you could get it back.

First I didn't log into my account and request it, I didn't log into my account at all that day,  I would have a purchase record if I did it, but no, I don't have any record for that because I didn't do it.

Second, I didn't receive or send out any text message with Koodo, so you please tell me,  where and  how I did it?  Privid anything that shows I did it, okay?

This is 100% Koodo's error,  clear and simple.

We don’t have access to your account here. However, you could find out why they charge you by log into your self-serve and download the detail PDF bill. Check the page 3 of it. They should have the reasons for it https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/viewing-and-downloading-your-bills

OMG I thought you were from Koodo, I am sorry!

It would not be possible for someone selecting to get extra data on their phone to be charged to yours. The Koodo rep here, “Georgia Koodo” said that it was either done via SMS message on your phone, or via self-serve. You have the option to to say you will add more data via SMS on your phone. To be honest 29 dollars for 1 GB today is far too much. I’ve seen add-ons for data going down to 12 dollars for 10GB. I would suggest scheduling a callback to speak with a rep to get this adjusted. Even if just reduced to another data add-on. And confirmation of how it was added.

The reps here can also help instead. I could flag a rep, and someone like Georgina could likely assist here. More details about what happened could probably be messaged to you by them. Let us know.
