I recently got a new phone number with Koodo and paid $56 upfront. I was under the impression that this amount would cover my first month’s bill. However, upon reviewing my online account, I noticed that I’ve been billed for the period since I got the new number as well as the next month of my plan.

Could you please clarify why I’m being charged for this additional period? I expected the initial payment to cover the first month, so I’d like to understand the breakdown of the charges.

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi @EfY

When activating a Koodo postpaid plan, the first bill is usually higher to the first bill proration, that includes a partial charge from the activation until the bill date + the monthly plan in advance.

Looks like you setup the plan at a Koodo reseller location. I would reach out to them directly to see what the $56 charge paid in store was for. Some resellers/dealers will charge separate administration/setup fees. Not a fan of it, but it does happen.

Can you start your own post?

We need more detailed information such as " is it your first bill?" " What plan do you have, how did you activate your service...etc
