Do you have a store close by that you could pick up a sim from? You could do that, and then activate it on the line you had added to your account.
Maybe, but at this point I want to make sure they correct the bill. Also the complete lack of real customer service here has me looking at other providers. Getting help from other users on a forum rather than an actual employee was barely acceptable in 2005, much less 2025.
That said, I appreciate the suggestion Allan, thank you.
It’s possible that the queues are full atm for callbacks, but you’d think you could still schedule the next available slot. Normally they get flooded while these deal times are ongoing. Koodo’s still advertizing Boxing Day plans, and those are officially for new line activations only, so people often flood the callback in order to ask for it as an existing customer. Plus any other issues.
There are reps here too, but indeed there’s other users on this forum.
As for correcting the bill, that’s getting tougher and tougher in this case. When you register with Koodo, you agree to pay for the days of service you have before you get a sim card. Before, I used to say to speak with a rep to get the amount credited, but they’ve been increasingly defautling to “you agreed to pay on registration.” YMMV. I suggest doing it anyways because I don’t believe in “agreeing” to pay for service you can’t use.
A quick update for anyone in a similar situation. I tried to book a callback today, Wednesday Jan 8, I was offered a callback Friday at 10am. Then I requested to cancel my service, and got a callback within 5 minutes. The agent put me on hold for about 5 minutes, but then they cancelled my additional line and informed me that I will receive an updated bill that reflects a credit for all the charges on my next billing cycle. It’s a bit annoying that they wouldn’t confirm the amount of the credit, but I guess I’ll find out in a few weeks if they were telling the truth or not. It’s also annoying that the only way to get decent customer service is to tap the retention department.
Not a strong start here, Koodo
