Charged for US roaming while in Canada

Was charged for US roaming on April 2, 2024 after returning from the US by car after crossing the US - Canada border at Lacolle, Quebec just before  5pm that day. Time stamp on billing information shows phone data activity  only after 5.02pm that day after I removed flight mode.  How to proceed to obtain a refund for false roaming charge?

Data usage time stamp wasn't always correct as they can combine usage of a certain period into one.  When you removed your airplane mode, did you receive a roaming notice from Koodo?

Anyway, I will flag a rep to have more information

Hi @Martin Janssen

We have reviewed the details and have been able to apply a credit for April 2nd, since it was due to accidental roaming, you should see the updated amount due in self serve shortly

We recommend checking this article to find out more about how to prevent unwanted roaming charges when close to the border.

Whiile driving from Calgary to Surrey on April 19, my wife’s phone received a text message saying that she was roaming in the US as we were passing through Abbotsford. We didn’t think much of it as we were only there for 2 days, but I got the bill today and see that her number was charged $14 for roaming when we never left Canada. Oddly enough I never got any message saying I was roaming even though Data Roam is on for my device as well. Please reverse these charges.
