Billing Inquiry: Tab Bonus Debit - Cancellation


I got charged with a Tab Bonus Debit - Cancellation and I was not informed that this would be the case if I cancelled my service. Is there a number I can call to sort this out?

Hi there,

when cancelling within a 2 year agreement on the agreement it states that if you cancel the service before the end of the 2 year term your forfeit both the remaining tab and remaining bonus that Koodo will pay for the device. You can always talk to a rep by setting up a call back to your phone number through Koodo.com/help but they will tell you the charge is valid.

Did you cancel or port your number out?

The tab bonus is the sale discount given on the phone.  So when you leave Koodo early, you will also need to pay back the remaining discount for the phone.  It is separate from the tab.

As @Dennis and @Oliver C stated above, the remaining tab bonus charges apply on the final bill when the account is canceled before the end of the agreement.

how long has the account been cancelled? When switching to another provider, you actually have 30 days to cancel and switch back. You can always do this by setting up a call back and providing them with your previous account number.

I cancelled my account about 8 days ago. When you mention “providing them” my previous account number, you meant koodo? I scheduled a callback from koodo. Do I tell the representative that I want to reverse the cancellation? I still have access to my koodo account online.

Hi there

yes your Koodo account number. Fortunately as you’re at day 8 you have time to go back to Koodo, just keep in mind they will port your number back and cancel your service with your new provider. And yes you will tell them you would like to reverse the cancellation you got it 🙂👍
