There should be a setting here to adjust the screen time out or when the screen dims

Make sure your video is actually on full screen mode and not in player mode

You have to tap the expanding arrow button

Is auto brightness on? Could be possible that youre putting your finger over the light sensor when you watch a video.

I can watch facebook videos on my G5 while in a "small screen" so although that may fix it you should still be able to watch it without going into full screen.

Yes, it must be in full screen mode.  Glad you figured it out!

Hmm, ill look into it for you DeVon as the screen on my G5 doesn't dim down when im in the smaller screen. I just finished watching a 10min video in the "small" screen and it didn't dim at all. I'll let you know if i find anything out.

Are you a Beta tester?  I'm experiencing the exact same thing on my Droid Turbo.  If you look on the Beta Facebook page there are others reporting it.  They recommend reporting it through the app.  They are looking into it.

Yeah, all beta testers are experiencing the same problem...

I am a beta tester, have s6 edge and it's doing the same. It's annoying. I hope that fb finds a solution for this soon.

I noticed that the problem happened the same time FB started stories. So, I am guessing that this was a symptom, maybe?

If you are on the newest version of FB then check the comments in the playstore of the FB app and see if others are experiencing the same issue. You can even try to filter the comments to your specific device to see if its affecting that model. I know FB pushes out multiple different versions of their app depending on deferent criteria as well so might not be easy to nail it down. If FB was pre installed on your phone model then you could delete the updates and go back to the factory installed version and see if that changes anything.
Me too. FB beta, S7 Edge. Cleared the FB cache, reinstalled, seems to fix it.

Settings, General (Tab at the top right), Apps (Scroll almost all the way down), Facebook, Storage, Clear cache
