Easy Roam Tethering

Hi Guys,

I am traveling to Cuba next week and thinking about adding EasyRoam to my account.
I understand that will allow me to use my min/sms/data in Cuba for $12 per 24h.

Am i going to be able to tether data to my laptop as i might need to occasionally do some work too?

Thanks

hi,

I don't see any reason that they would block while traveling there. There is a Telus user blog talking about data tethering in Thailand (didn't find any report on Koodo). I think it would be fine.  http://dobbernationloves.com/2017/03/14/5-memorable-travel-moments-captured-live-with-telus-roaming/

That sounds good so far ! :P

If someone else can confirm this, and maybe data speeds in Varadero area.

Thanks

Laptop will gobble up data involving any graphics at an enourmous rate (up to 9x more than on a mobile device), so be careful.

Especially since your laptop will just treat it like a regular internet connection. Any download or update your computer would do would eat through your data in minutes

Pay attention to Microsoft Updates, they tend to devour data.

Pro-tip:  connect to your phone's hot spot on your laptop, then mark the connection as a metered connection.  This prevents Windows from using it to download Windows updates and possibly for some other things too.
Awww, yes , make sense guys!
Well looks like laptop is no go for this trip 😕
