Did you receive any confirmation on the WHP? and that SIM was assigned to a number?
I would wait a bit, or reinsert the SIM after few hours and see if it solves problem by itself.

How fast did you receive your WHP?  Koodo may not have activated your line just yet.  Maybe give it a day or 2

Hi Lori, Dennis is correct, the webstore is a bit behind on the SIM activations! Apologies for causing any frustration. Can you try again and let me know if you're still seeing an error?
It’s all good now. Thanks for your help
I am having the same problem.  was the SIM card already inserted because there was none in the box.

Means the sim is not activate yet. Send Koodo a private message via facebook or twitter and they can look into it
A little bit of a necro but since we just had the same issue and this was in the first page results of a google "koodo wireless home phone flashing red lights" search I thought I would add what the problem was for us since I didn't see it in any other threads about this error.

I had to troubleshoot the problem for my folks who are not very tech savvy and went through the whole usual stuff like is the sim card in correctly, did you slide the sim card in so the slanted corner was in the bottom right as it slid in under the little slot? etc etc.

After much head scratching I discovered the issue was the fact they put the sim card in while the hub unit was POWERED ON which then caused the hub not to detect the sim card at all and thus the red flashing lights error.

The fix was easy unplug the hub from the wall outlet and take the battery out of the hub so the hub was completely powered down. Then I had them take the sim card out and put it back in, put the battery back and plug back into the wall outlet.

Bingo green lights now instead of flashing red.

To recap make sure the unit is powered off COMPLETELY before inserting the simcard as when it powers on it seems to force the hub to check for a sim card whereas if you put in the simcard while the hub is powered it doesn't check for a simcard.

Hopefully this helps others having issues!
