Noob question for Koodo WHP


Hello friends,
I just signed up for this service a couple of days ago for my mother (Senior Citizen). Just got an email that the hub has been shipped and may take a few days to get. 
When I signed up online, I was not asked about the details of number being ported.
So, my question is, will it be done after I get the Hub and when I try to activate? If so, how long will it take for the actual port (from Vonage)? As my Vonage promo is ending soon, I wanted to do this ASAP.

It can take several business days but the port out date goes effectively to the date you started it.

Yes, you can port the number over when you activate the service. Landline ports typically take 2-3 days to complete while wireless ports are typically completed within an hour or so. Since VoIP lines are something in between it's hard to say just how long it will take, but it will likely take 24 hours or less.

Yes, you can port the number over when you activate the service. Landline ports typically take 2-...It was quite some time ago that I did it, but porting from Vonage took under half a day.
The vonage line remained "live" in that I could call out for a little longer. Eventually, I called them to confirm cancellation of service.

A suggestion when dealing with some older folks: activate the new gear with a new temporary number. Sometimes they really don't like the new service, or maybe the cel reception may be spotty in your area.

The old service remains intact so that if you have to return the new gear for whatever reason, there are no complications and life goes on as it did before.
Do the port once everyone is happy.
