No 5g connection option for s20 fe 5g after upgrade

Basically tittle says it all recently upgraded to 5g plan got to change connection settings and I'm stuck with LTE/WCDMA/GSM I've restarted the phone even reinsert the sim same problem...I'm in a dark purple 5g area aswell…

It was likely because the firmware wasn’t updated with 5G option. Have you got an iPhone (12 or newer that supported 5G) to test to make sure if the issue was from the phone or the plan itself.

No I have the s20 fe 5g and I've tried it in a s21 and s22 they don't get 5g either

I checked the status of my sim card and is says lte maybe it's an older sim that only allows lte?

I got the same issue, it’s not the phone, see:

Same issue with my Galaxy S20 FE. No 5G option in the Mobile Network settings even after today’s August security update. Koodo needs to sort this out already..

I suggest reaching out to have a callback and making a technical support ticket request. The more people who are affected that do it, the more likely Koodo will do it. Also, one message for the same issue is enough for assistance.
