Tab zeroed, bill does not go down?

My tab is now zero, but my monthly bill remains the same. Should it not be reduced by he amount that was previously directed to my tab? Thanks.

You have to call or go on self serve and apply the discount yourself if your on one of the old plans that's eligible for the 10% BYOD discount it doesn't happen automatically because your gaining a positive tab amount instead.

Thanks for the reply Paul. I was under the impression one could no longer get a positive tab if you had your tab zeroed due to recent legislation.

If you are on an older plan you can still collect positive tab. No more 10% off though.

Just talked to Koodo. When tab zeroed, bill does not go down and you do not collect a credit. Koodo gets to keep amount that used to be applied to pay down tab.

In the old system, your tab was Koodo loaning you money on the cost of a new phone. A percentage of your monthly bill was applied against the loan (tab) and the tab started to go down. When the tab reached zero, that amount that used to pay down the loan showed up as a credit towards a new phone. Now when your loan is paid off (ie tab zero), you do not get a credit towards a new phone nor does your bill get reduced by the amount you were previously paying on your loan. Just more fees for Koodo.

Once your class tab (the old tab system) is paid off, Koodo continues to make monthly contributions towards your tab for you as a courtesy. This is not money that you are paying extra, but that Koodo has chosen to contribute for you. This money (positive tab) can be used in the future towards the purchase of a new phone. For example, let's say that you've accumulated a positive balance of $50. If you were looking at getting a new phone that required a $50 upfront payment, you would be able to apply the positive tab towards that. Or alternatively, if the new phone you had in mind had a $0 upfront cost, the positive tab would still be applied to the new tab, lowering your new monthly tab cost.

Once your tab is paid off, Koodo does not make monthly contributions towards your tab, you can no longer get a positive tab. Your bill, however, remains the same. Call them if you need clarification.
