Tab Sucks

I hate the whole med/lg tab thing. The tab was a good idea, but it should have just gotten more generous as the price of phones became more ridiculously priced. This whole division of telus is veering dramatically opposite its original mandate. May have to consider fido or wind as they r proving quite competitive. Long term customer at the exit door.

Tab S/Tab M are pretty good if you take the time to asses your overall investment. Especially when Koodo lowers the prices of their phones quite often so you pay less upfront. WIND is a regional carrier and not a competitor of Koodo so they are irrelevant in this conversation. You can join Fido but they have the exact same plans like Koodo right now and if you have a grandfathered plan, the plans are going to be way way worse and you'll most likely end up staying with Koodo anyways. A lot of things have changed because of the CRTC's new wireless code and providers are reacting to it so they can still make as much money. ALL providers. Including Fido. Tab L is just horrible. Everyone knows that and none of the MMs would recommend getting it. However, that is the price you have to pay if you want a pretty, expensive phone. You can't have it both ways.

Also, no one's [i]forcing you into a medium or large Tab. You can just use the small Tab and the only thing that will change is that you'll get 15% every month instead of 10%, if you haven't taken advantage of the new Tab system already.

Why would a regional carrier be irrelevant if their service covers her area?

According to an older post, she's in Owen Sound, ON. No Wind coverage there as of yet.

Well then, it is irrelevant to her after all. I stand corrected.

I understand the hate for tab L (i dislike it as well). But I'm not sure why you hate tab M. Tab M allows you to keep your plan as along as it's $30 or more and it takes 300 off the price of the phone with a $5 monthly tab charge. In the end, the decision is up to you whether you want to switch providers. If you see a plan/deal you like from fido, by all means go for it ( although koodo and fido usually have very similar plans). Wind has very good plans too if you are in their coverage area. EDIT: see Ahmad's answer above lol

Phones pretty much cost the same regardless who you are going with.

That's not necessarily true. What I like about Koodo is that they usually drop retail prices on phones because their subsidy model is based entirely around that. The other carriers will instead just offer the phone "on sale" and allow you to take cheaper plans but the retail prices/subsidy will rarely change.
Go to Wind only if they have coverage where you are going to be. Otherwise stick with Koodo. And if you travel in the USA 15 bucks for unlimited everything is a great deal. EDIT: Just saw a comment and Wind doesn't have coverage there.
Want to switch go 4 it. Been with koodo for years and I will still be here when you return . You know why I say that ? Its because most do return because its a great company . The old saying goes " save a dime now but spend a dollar later" remember that before you switch .
Michael Kenney less than a minute ago Well I have a tab , it was on a pretty basic crappy (non smart phone) which I lost about 3 months ago, I have had the phone for over 3 years now and there is still a 50 dollar balance remaining, at 2.50 a month I will be paying for this this for another year and half. I would like to pay the sucker off and get on with another carrier but they seem to be making that very difficult. Incidentally they are still dinging me for the full monthly rate ,even though I put the number on suspend. Oh will I be glad to say good bye. And to Tom C, yes you may be happy and basically everyone of the carriers has similar horror stories as mine , but I guarantee once I am gone I will not return.
